How do you load Linux onto a Laptop that runs on windows that has a password that you dont know to log in?

My dad got a really old laptop that came with windows 2000. when we got the laptop whe we started it up it brought up a screen that sais you need a password to access it. Nobody at my dads work knows the pass but i heard that you can download linux by not logging in. So.......how do you do this if it is possible? Directions or links would be great. Thank you!

If it is a Windoze password, there are ways around it. If it is a bios-based startup password check with the mfgr and see what if anything can be done to get around it. Google may have the necessary info as well.
Reply:YOU CANNOT load Linux on Windows man. Coz you can load an OS on top of another OS.
