What is the best linux for my machine?

Here is my specs

192mb of ram

a 15 gig hard drive and a 10 gig

550mhz pentium 3 processor

I'm currently running windows xp, windows 98, and kubuntu on it. But kubuntu is too slow on my machine. Can anyone reccomend a different linux.

P.S. I want something that looks good also.

What is the best linux for my machine?
It could just be your desktop environment thats slowing you down. You may want to install XFCE and run that instead of KDE. As for other distro's these two are a sure thing:

DSL- Damn Small Linux! :) It's great and should be fast for you. http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/

Here's a pic of the desktop from Wikipedia:

Or you could try out Knoppix if you have a cd-rom http://www.knoppix.org

Requirements to run Knoppix:

* Intel-compatible processor (i486 or later)

* 32 MB of RAM for text mode, at least 96 MB for graphics mode with KDE (at least 128 MB of RAM is recommended to use the various office products)

* Bootable CD-ROM drive, or a boot floppy and standard CD-ROM (IDE/ATAPI or SCSI)

Reply:There is one called DAMNED SMALL LINUX...yes, that is exactly what it is called. It is perfect for you with your computer hardware:

LOL -Can't believe the guy above me and I were thinking exactly the same thing at the same time! The universe sure is an interesting process :)
Reply:With those kind of specs, I would suggest Xubuntu (like Kubuntu, it's based on Ubuntu, only this one is designed for lower spec machines): http://www.xubuntu.org/tour

OR...

Zenwalk, which is another user friendly distro that is pretty much designed for lower spec machines: http://www.zenwalk.org/

Both of them are very attractive distros, so attractive that they match other distros that are designed for higher spec machines well.
