How do I install Linux to an old laptop that does not have a working CD-ROM drive?

Hi,

I've never used Linux before, and would like to install the Damn Small Linux distribution to an old laptop I have. The laptop has Win 98, but I added a driver so that it would be able to read my iPod. I no longer have the external CD-ROM drive for the laptop. Is it possible to install from the iPod? I also have a 3.5" floppy drive for the laptop.

Thanks for your help

I feel Puppy linux can help you here.

check this out: in the below link
Reply:Is the laptop internet capable you may be able to download it?
Reply:whatever you install it from has to be bootable.
Reply:i suggest you get yourself a new laptop.your computer might crash with all the additional plug ins, software you're putting in.frankly, linux didnt do me any good. better stick to windows XP. ditch the Microsoft Vista though..might have tons of bugs since it's a new product.
