How do I get a PC running Linux to boot from something other than a Linux CD?

I have an old Compaq running Linux XP Desktop.. I thought I would be able to get it up and running a wireless adapter, but no luck.. I have a Windows CD to fix the problem with, but it won't boot from the D#%n thing.. Help me out.. I have to get this thing on the web

How do I get a PC running Linux to boot from something other than a Linux CD?
Have you tried entering BIOS and selecting the CD drive as the first boot option. It will be set to the hard drive and you need to change it to the CD drive and then reboot. Hope this helps.
