Is it possible to install a linux in the same computer that has already windows ? I mean if window is in C-drive, then linux must be in D or other drive?

well. on Ubuntu.. you could install Ubuntu Via Dual Booting... Run the Live CD within Reboot.... Click Start Ubuntu... ThenClick Preferences%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; Partition Editor.... now you can Do Dual Booting with Windows and Linux Ubuntu....
Reply:yes you can install it on a separate partition or drive, if you dont have another partition you can use gpart to resize your windows partition and create a new one from the free space, but thats quite risky

some distributions will setup everything automatically and you will be able to select which os to boot from after youve installed it.
